Welcome to my blog about GSS America, it's values, it's people, it's founders and it's goals...

It all started with an email from our GM Nag, stating that they had come across my profile on the net and found it suitable for the position of an HR Manager.

I found myself in the Mayes Technologies ( The GSS America offshore office) the next day. The interview wth Nag was more of a talk about each other's past (non-work related) and less of an evaluation of my capabilities. Nag later told me that he knew I was the guy for him when we first spoke on phone. The best part was that Nag never really saw my CV, it just stayed on his desk and we on th other hand kept talking....
Nag is a real friend, somone you could always count on, some one who will always be there for you, and most importantly an amazing human being.

Bhargav our CEO was the next person whom I had spoken to, I remember him telling me that he had slept fro about 5 hours over the past three days!
Apart from discussing my expereince and qualifications, he said something which I would probably never forget for the rest of my life....He said....you know what, (that's how he usually starts) I have a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, (now I was thinking that a CEO running as huge a company as he is would definitely have responsibilities!) he continued saying that "I have the responsibility of a 170 families on my shoulders" (that was our strength about 8 months ago, today we stand at 250 employees and are looking to cross a 1000 by the end of year 2006).

I was sold, right then, right there. I didn't want too look any further, I knew that this is the company I want to be with (despite the fact that I had an offer from a NASA subsidary ready and waiting).

Later that day I had a telephonic conversation/interview with Ramesh, he is the President. If there truly was a genius, then Ramesh would definitely be my choice!
He is an encyclopedia, has answers and suggestions for virtually everything. Before joining GSS, I came with over 8 years of experience from diverse industries and different countries, but when I compare that with what I learnt at GSS, it's values, culture and people, this has been a far richer experience, and most of my learning is attributed to what Ramesh taught me. He has been and continues to be a great teacher.

GSS America today is a dream of 2 people which has taken it's shape as a multi million dollar company rated as one of the best in the world. ( GSS has been rated as the 41st fastest groing IT Consulting Company in the US)

Today the 13th of October 2005 we celbrated the second anniversay of Mayes Technologies ( Our US operations are about 8 years old). It was a wonderful experience, everyone was all suited up, the ladies in sarees were looking dazzling, the office was decorated like a bride, but the most heart felt experience was the pride I could see in everone's eyes...The pride of being a GSS Familiy member.

After Bhargav and Nag spoke about the experiences we had over the past 2 years and our plans for the future, everyone else spoke about their views and experiences here.

When my turn came, I couldn't say a lot...probably was feeling very emotional, but I managed to echo Bhargav's words, he had told me a few days ago that, Saif (that's what Bhargav calls me, it means a Sword) I have waited 2 years to find you...today I replied back saying that I have waited a life time to be with him and GSS America....
